De herfst is
begonnen, maar daar merk ik buiten weinig van. Het is momenteel nog heerlijk,
maar dat weerhoud mij er niet van om alvast het huis te veranderen met leuke
herfst dingen.
Autumn has started,
but I do notice it outside. In the Netherlands the weather is lovely, but that
does not hold me back on changing the house into autumn with lovely items.
Ik verander
altijd verschillende dingen in huis als het seizoen veranderd: kussenhoezen,
dekentjes, accessoires, kaarsen en natuurlijk de seizoentafel. Het is heerlijk
om het huis lekker knus te maken (alsof het alleen met de herfst zo is…). Ik
vind vooral de herfst en winter van die heerlijke seizoenen waarbij je helemaal
los kan gaan. En dan zal het je dus ook niet verbazen dat ik de kersttijd
helemaal geweldig vind! Maar nu eerst maar de herfst.
I always change
several things in the house when a season changes: pillowcovers, blankets, accesoires,
candles and of course the seasontable (I am not sure if this is the correct
translation. What I mean is Waldorf dolls which are specific for a particular
season, like mother earth, king winter, santa, nativity set). I find it very
fulfilling and nice to change the house and make it cosy (as if my house is not
cosy in other seasons…). I really like autumn and winter as seasons to go
ballistic on. So you would not be surprised that I really love Christmas time! But
autumn is first.
Deze week was een
drukke maar toch ook een heerlijke week. Erg druk op het werk, maar ’s avonds
veel tijd gehad voor veel verschillende dingen.
This week was a busy
but also a lovely week. I was very busy at work but at night I had lots of time
for several other things.
Veel gehaakt en
gelezen. De omslagdoek van mijn vorige blogpost vordert gestaag, al dan niet
met hulp van 1 of beide katten. Vooral als ik met een dekentje zit dan willen
ze graag helpen. Droppie (niet de kat op de foto) is vooral gek op bewegende
draadjes. Hij maakt het graag zijn missie om mijn draadjes via zijn bek te
laten lopen. Indien je draad niet doorgebeten is (is wel eens gebeurd als ik
niet oplette...) dan krijg je gratis vochtige en naar vis ruikende draadjes (en dat
haakt zo irritant!). Dus je snapt wel dat ik probeer mijn draden uit zijn bek
te houden en heel vaak zijn naam roep.
I crocheted and read a
lot. The shawl from my last post is growing slowely with a lot of help by one
or multiple cats. Especially when I crochet with a blanket on my lap they
really want to help. Droppie (not the cat on the photo) adores moving yarn. He
believes it is his mission to make sure that all yarn goes via his mouth. When
the yarn is not bitten through (it has happened when not paying attention...) you
receive wet, fish-like smelling yarn for free (and this is so irritating with
crocheting!). So you can understand that I really try to keep the yarn out of
his mouth and am calling his name a lot.
Ik heb meerdere
abonnementen op tijdschriften en deze week kwamen ze toevallig allemaal binnen.
Wat een mazzel! Ik heb genoten van het lezen en heb weer veel inspiratie
opgedaan. Veel lekkere recepten in de nieuwe Jamie magazine en ik had toevallig
ook de nieuwe Smult gekocht (nog geen abonnement maar die gaat er wel komen
denk ik…). Een leuke herfsthanger in de Simply Crochet (ik zie net dat ik het
vorige nummer op de foto heb gezet J) en een leuke jurk om te maken in de
Simply Sewing. Waar haal ik toch de tijd vandaan om alles te kunnen maken… je
zou bijna willen dat een dag 30 uur had, een week 8 dagen en slapen niet nodig
is!
I have multiple
magazine subscriptions and by chance I received them all this week. Lucky me! I
enjoyed reading them and I have a lot of inspiration. A lot of nice recipes in
the new Jamie magazine (Dutch edition) and I also bought Smult magazine (no
subscription yet but I think it won’t be long…). A lovely autumn hanger in
Simply Crochet (I just noticed that I put last month’s copy in the picture J)
and a cute dress to make in the Simply Sewing. How do I get the time to make it
all… You would almost wish a day has 30 hours, a week 8 days and you do not
need your sleep!
De nieuwe Jamie
magazine bevat meerdere recepten van het nieuwe boek van Jamie Oliver (Everyday
Superfood) en laat ik nu toevallig de Superfoodbox besteld hebben bij Jamie
magazine. Deze viel vrijdag bij mij op de mat (nou ja mat... een mannetje van
de post kwam aan de deur met een ontzettend zware doos). Het ziet er geweldig
uit en ik kan aan de gang met alle producten die erbij zitten. Het boek Green
Kitchen Travels dat bij het pakket hoort heb ik helaas al in het Engels
(ondertussen doet mijn zusje het ‘Maaike heeft het al dus ik krijg
het’-dansje). Dus zo als een goede zus betaamd krijgt mijn zusje het dubbele
boek. Ik kan aan de gang met het uit proberen van de producten. Sommige zijn
voor mij onbekend terwijl andere producten standaard al een plekje in de keuken
hebben. Ik ben benieuwd!
The new Jamie magazine
contains multiple recipes from the new book of Jamie Oliver (Everyday
Superfood) and I happened to have ordered the Superfoodbox at Jamie magazine. This
arrived in my mailbox on Friday (mailbox?.... well the mailman rang my doorbell
and handed me a really heavy box). It looks great and I can get started on all
items the box contained. Sadly, I already own a copy of the book Green Kitchen
Travels (in English instead of Dutch) which was included in the box (my sister
is already doing the ‘Maaike already has it so I get it’-dance). So as a good
sister should be I am giving my extra copy to my sister. I can start with trying
the products. Some are new to me while others already have a place in my
kitchen. I am curious!
Kortom een
heerlijke week met veel inspiratie en creativiteit.
To cut it short this was a
lovely week with a lot of inspiration and creativity.
